“Issues in Contemporary Islam” is based on Mustapha Hogga’s lectures which he gave during the years 1995 and 1996. In these lectures he has discussed about contemporary issues faced by Islam i.e. Islam and Modernization, geopolitical implications of Islamism in North Africa and Middle-east, and Islam and democracy. He talked about unbalanced and conflict ridden relations with the Western World. He has also talked about Islamist challenge an Egypt, Palestinian Islamists and Islamic fundamentalism. He has thrown light on democracy and political Islam in the west.
